Objective: Identify additional components of social-cognitive theory of personality, and examine the evolution of trait theory from Allport's 4,500 traits to the Big 5 Theory.

Objective: Discuss various types of self-esteem, and how humans seek to protect self-esteem; introduce social-cognitive personality theory, focusing on Bandura's theory of self-efficacy.

Objective: Demonstrate knowledge of Freudian personality theory; examine the self-esteem phenomenon and discuss possible negative effects on personality development.

Objective: Wrap up psychoanalysis, and introduce humanism. Examine how humanism was a direct response to the negative beliefs of the psychoanalytic perspective.

Objective: Discuss and experience the two most popular techniques for assessing the unconscious as part of psychoanalytic theory, Rorschach inkblots and the Thematic Apperception Test.

Objective: Examine Freud's theory of psychosexual development and connect aspects of this theory with Erik Erikson's psychosocial development theory.
